Website Redesign & CMS Implementation: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Tonya Price, Director, Marketing and Web Operations at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, will share what went bad in WPI redesign coupled with a CMS implementation and how her team managed to overcome these challenges. She will also present her recipe to prepare, manage and survive any big website redesign project that will come your way.
April 23, 2009 - 1PM-2PM ET (rain date: April 30, 2009)
Web Redesign on a dime in 10 steps
Nick DeNardis, Associate Director of Web Communications at Wayne State University and Founder of the video blog EDU Checkup, will explain how his team managed to complete 25 successful website redesigns for different departments and offices. He will share best practices and lessons learned as well as his 10 steps plan to redesign a small website on a dime.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Feel free to gather your team members around your computer or a larger campus group in front of a screen with an LCD projector.
- Audio is done via voice over IP. As a result, a phone line isn't necessary.
- Attending institutions get a 1-week free access to the recorded sessions of the series just after the live events as part of their registration.
- Webinar slides are available as PDF files prior to the sessions for easy note-taking.
- Access instructions will be sent to registered attendees along with the presentation files on April 20, 2009.

Stewart Foss is the founder of eduStyle, an independent web design gallery serving the higher ed web design community. As a result, he has had the opportunity to get a good look at the latest trends in higher ed web design and has conducted several interviews with the schools and companies involved in some of the most interesting redesigns of 2008.
Tonya Price, Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Tonya Price has been managing Web sites since 1995 when she was Director of Customer Service for UltraNet Communications, an early Internet Service Provider. Presently she is Director of Marketing and Web Operations for Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) where she has gotten hands on experience managing a 45,000 page site which utilizes a CMS.
Nick DeNardis, Wayne State University
Nick is the Associate Director of Web Communications at Wayne State University. As host of the video blog, EDU Checkup, he reviews higher education websites from the point of view of a first time visitor, while critiquing the design, information architecture and code of the sites.
