Requirements to Qualify as a HEE Speaker

Since we live in the era of transparency, you can read our requirements before even sending your application. If you have questions, just email Karine Joly at karine@higheredexperts.com.

To qualify as a potential speaker, you need to:

  • Work for an institution of higher education (college, university, graduate school, etc.) based preferably in North America unless you are ready to wake up in the middle of the night to present.
  • Have implemented the initiative/practice you want to talk about at your current or previous institution and be able to share some broad measurement data about it (in %) as well as some general trends. We'll be happy to help you with this last part by sharing our own research.
  • Own or borrow a computer you can use for the webinar.
  • Own or borrow a headset with a microphone connected to your computer
Know how to use the hardware and software listed above (or have a nice IT person or student employee who can help you).
  • If you have a web cam and know how to use it, you'll get extra credit.
  • Submit a short proposal via our online form.

If your proposal is selected,

  • Sign a simple contract transferring to HEE your copyrights on the final PowerPoint you will be presenting (you retain the rights to your own content in a different format) and ironing out the payment details.
  • Use the HEE PPT template for your presentation. Our template including a required structured outline and a design was created to offer the most effective and consistent experience to our Webinar attendees.
  • Send the final PPT file two weeks before the scheduled webinar.
  • Submit a 200-word bio in electronic format along with your picture in digital format.
  • Review the training material available in the HEE speaker intranet prior to your session.
  • Show up 15 minutes before the beginning of your webinar and answer questions posted in the forum discussion thread after the seminar.
  • Have fun.
