Catherine Niekro

Cat Serrin Niekro is vice president of marketing and communications at the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan. At the AAUM, an independent organization with more than 100,000 dues-paying members, she oversees all marketing efforts as well as the alumni magazine and advertising/sponsorship sales.
 


Cat was a key member of the AAUM team that helped bring the inCircle networking community to U-M. She now oversees all non-technical issues related to inCircle, including marketing and customer service.

 

Prior to joining the AAUM in 1999, Cat was a newspaper reporter in Lansing, Michigan. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and has a master’s degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She is married to Ron Niekro, and they have a 2-year-old daughter, Mallory, and a dog, Briar.
